In my ongoing fixation on the cultural ramifications of Brokeback Mountain...

On Monday, the film won four Golden Globes:
BEST MOTION PICTURE – DRAMA
BEST DIRECTOR - MOTION PICTURE
BEST SCREENPLAY - MOTION PICTURE
BEST ORIGINAL SONG - MOTION PICTURE

Next week Oscar nominations are annouced. I would be surprised if the film doesn't garner at least as many nominations (seven) as for the globes. In the coming weeks leading up to Oscar season I expect more and more press coverage on the film.

The question is whether or not there will be any attention paid to the roles of the children of both men. Look out for stories that feature "real Brokeback Mountain" or similar personal interest stories, assuming they haven't begun already.
